Standards of Busines Conduct
The Standards of Business Conduct are an integral part of the Group’s governance and, together with the Business Principles, underpin our commitment to high standards of corporate responsibility. These Standards of Business Conduct set out the rules and policies that everyone working for British American Tobacco Group companies - including ours - must adhere to, while also providing support and guidance to assist them to ensure that their conduct meets the high standards expected of them.

Statement of Business Principles
The Group's Statement of Business Principles forms the basis on which we expect our business to be run in terms of responsibility in Nigeria. Developed with the help of stakeholders in dialogue, it consists of three Business Principles: Mutual Benefit, Responsible Product Stewardship and Good Corporate Conduct and eighteen Core Beliefs.
We have adopted the Statement and work to ensure it is reflected in our business practices.

International Marketing Principles
Our International Marketing Principles (IMP) provide a consistent and responsible approach to marketing across the Group. They replace our International Marketing Standards which were launched in 2001 and updated in 2015.

Environment, Health and Safety
We aim to apply the best international standards of practice relating to the health and safety of employees at work and non-company personnel on company premises and to the conservation of the physical environment. We aim to give a high priority to these activities.

Employment Principles
Our Employment Principles build on our commitment to good employment practices and workplace related human rights. They set out a common approach to our development of policies and procedures, while recognising that we must take account of local labour law and practice and the local political, economic and cultural context. We have committed to the Employment Principles and, through our internal audit process, are required to demonstrate we are embedding them in the workplace.
