BEWARE: LOTTERY SCAM
Fraudsters are sending emails purporting to be employees of British American Tobacco Nigeria, and stating that the recipient of the email is the winner of a British American Tobacco Nigeria sweepstakes. The recipients of the emails are required to forward their names, phone numberse, addresses, age, occupation and countries of origin to a specified email address (firstname.lastname@example.org). The problem is international and in some cases, the emails are very sophisticated in their appearance, using both British American Tobacco Group trademarks and names of senior British American Tobacco executives.
Please be advised that there is no such British American Tobacco Nigeria lottery. The British American Tobacco Group does NOT run lotteries. These emails should be deleted without opening or replying. We also encourage you to notify the police of the emails at any time they are sent to you.
